Hello, my name is Aaron Christopher Tutor, and I am a 2025 graduate of the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the University of Mississippi. Throughout my time at Ole Miss, I immersed myself in a wide range of design and artistic disciplines. From printmaking and bookmaking to sound art and digital video, I’ve enjoyed exploring new mediums and discovering how each one can inform and expand my creative practice.
While some assignments required working within specific constraints, I found that I thrive most when developing my own concepts and following the subjects and aesthetics I’m naturally drawn to. Through this process, I’ve cultivated a distinct visual voice rooted in distressed, gritty textures and imagery inspired by my longstanding passion for Midwest emo music and its surrounding culture.
This aesthetic is most fully realized in my senior thesis exhibition, SUBURBIA, where I created an original magazine publication and brand identity centered on the Midwest emo genre and subculture. As a designer, I value versatility and believe in being a thoughtful generalist, capable across many forms, while still holding close the influences and styles that resonate most deeply with me.
